About Me

“If you want to change the world, start with yourself.”

– Mahatma Gandhi

Hi and welcome! My name is Helen and I’m from Orange County / Los Angeles, California. Perhaps like you, I have a great passion for shopping, saving $$$, clothes, and…making the world a better place.

Fashion Eco Score is a concept and tool I created while furloughed from the live music industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. Its purpose is for fashion-obsessed fans around the globe like me to collectively participate in our journey towards a more sustainable planet. What started as an idea while going for a walk ended up as a creative research project with plenty of fire, motivation, and spark (stay tuned for a full resources page and more). It’s a personal journey worth sharing with the world. Mahatma Gandhi says, “If you want to change the world, start with yourself.”

Born to immigrant parents and based in the United States, it became important to me to provide a unique perspective in diverse conversations around fashion sustainability. Major initiatives in the United States are lacking in comparison to Europe or Australia. Given the United States’ fast, materialistic, and convenience-driven culture, I wasn’t surprised. Day in and day out fashion designers, influencers, and professionals around the globe are working to make advances on sustainability in the fashion industry. I fully acknowledge that, “If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants.” – Isaac Newton.

I believe we have the power to change multi-billion dollar industries from the ground up. Now go on and score!
